I’m Alex.

By trade, I’m an engineer, usually found in the workshop with a cold cup of coffee full of swarf, oil on my jeans and some impossible project in the works.

Outside of work, my life revolves around my family, writing, motor racing and trying to understand people – including myself.

This site exists as a quiet corner where I can write, process and wrestle with what feels at times like an extraordinary and challenging life. It’s a work in progress… So am I. So are you, probably. This is documenting my attempts to progress.

Some stories are about cars; most aren’t, and all are really about people.
